Leica Camera AG presents the LEICA CL ‘URBAN JUNGLE by JEAN PIGOZZI’, a special edition of the Leica CL compact system camera created in collaboration with French-Italian photographer, entrepreneur and art collector Jean Pigozzi. The leathering of the camera features a unique urban design that reflects its name. This special edition set of the Leica CL includes an Elmarit-TL 18 mm f/2.8 ASPH. lens with a focal length that makes it ideal for street photography and thus perfectly matches the urban theme of the special edition. The design of the robust carrying strap that also belongs to the set has also won several awards.
The LEICA CL ‘URBAN JUNGLE by JEAN PIGOZZI’ will be on sale from 25 June.
The Leica CL is a synthesis of iconic design and advanced camera technology that unites an intuitive handling concept and exceptional imaging performance. A 24-megapixel sensor, fast autofocus and a continuous shooting rate of up to ten frames per second make the Leica CL an ideal camera for almost every shooting scenario. A feature that impresses at first sight is the camera’s EyeRes® electronic viewfinder, which enables photographers to view the resulting images before the release button is pressed – for still pictures and for video footage at resolutions up to 4K. A resolution of 2.36 megapixels and imperceptible latency time make it an immensely useful tool, even in situations with low levels of ambient light.
The Leica FOTOS App is an ideal tool that complements the photographer’s personal workflow and fulfils the demands of state-of-the-art photography. Thanks to seamless connection to the app, pictures can be quickly and easily transferred to the smartphone and shared in social networks.
A further highlight of the camera is a logical and intuitive handling concept that places all essential controls of the CL on the top plate of the camera. Two easily accessible setting dials enable the selection of the aperture, shutter speed, ISO value and exposure programmes. An additional display on the top plate provides information about all relevant settings and exposure parameters.
In addition to the Elmarit-TL 18 mm f/2.8 ASPH. lens from the special edition, an extensive range of prime and zoom lenses is also available for the Leica CL. Focal lengths from 11 mm to 135 mm (35 mm equivalent of approx. 17 mm to 200 mm) cover all typical genres of photography and photographic needs. Thanks to the ‘L-Mount Alliance’, the Leica CL is also perfectly equipped to take advantage of coming lens developments. The camera is fully compatible with all current and future lenses constructed by Panasonic and SIGMA in accordance with the L-Mount standard.
